Teachings of the order and the course
When Chris Turner created the Druids of Albion he envisaged a course for students - or querants - to be able to complete as distance learning.
The course was not to be too extensive or preclusive, there are longer and more in depth Druidic training courses available, and there are courses that cost a lot of money, and some little or none. Chris wanted a competent, modern and cost effective course.
Chris set about designing and writing such a course. His plan included the structure of ten teaching packs, available as and when a querant next wanted them. So flexibility in course progression was built in. His packs were to be populated by ten monographs, or teaching sheets. Some monographs would be one sheet of text (and sometimes graphics), whilst some may be two or more sheets long. The monographs would be on differing subjects per pack to retain freshness and guard against theme overload.
Each pack was to be commented and reported on then the next pack purchased. Chris would respond to queries or offer suggestion, support and advice. Chris set about creating his course and enticed querants onto it. Sadly, Chris did not live to see his course evolve past Pack 4. He had started notes on Pack 5 but little more.
The Druids of Albion are now proud to announce that the teachings, renamed the Coifi Druid Course, are now available in ten packs of ten monographs. Four and a half of the packs are Chris' original teachings, the rest have been created to follow on from his themes or his structure where it was apparent. The course is available to all members of the Druids of Albion, see our membership page.
Our vision is that a querant will not take any less than the magical year and one day to complete all the ten packs, however querants are at liberty to take as long as they want! There will be a cost to this course unfortunately, as this is the staple diet of the Druids of Albion at this point in our existence.
Each of the ten packs is available singly in succession at ten pounds sterling (£10 UK) to UK querants, or eighty five pounds sterling (£85 UK) if purchased in total in advance at the beginning of the training. Querants outside of the UK should enquire about the additional costs of postage to their country before ordering. If you are unwaged or low paid or have other monetary difficulties then please contact us regarding free or reduced fees. Money should be no object to learning druidry.
At the completion of the course, Chris envisaged that the querant was now a Druid and thus equipped to follow one of seven other courses of study, exploration or activity which we outline in our final monograph. The DoA will advise any querant on progress from our course should they ask it of us. We will issue a certificate for each course completed.
The course may be followed by two people from the same address at the single cost as long as the second querant is registered with us for the training and is a member of the Druids of Albion.
We include here five sample packs taken from across the course:
DoA monograph sample 1
DoA monograph sample 2
DoA monograph sample 3
DoA monograph sample 4
DoA monograph sample 5
